The Maxwell-Gunter Spouses' Club (MGSC) owns and operates the Maxwell Thrift Shop. The thrift shop offers bargains on clothes, shoes, home goods, small furniture, appliances, electronics, sporting equipment, toys, books and so much more. The Maxwell Thrift Shop does not offer refunds or store credits. All sales are final. Come in and enjoy the great buys and incredible savings!
Maxwell Thrift Shop proceeds benefit the MGSC's charitable programs, including scholarships for military dependents and spouses. In 2023-24, we raised over $60,000 for scholarships and charitable donations!

Consignments
Not only can you find a bargain, but you can also make some extra cash for yourself by consigning items that you no longer need. It's easy to consign your items at the Maxwell Thrift Shop! Simply purchase a contract for $0.50 and list the items you are consigning. One of our friendly volunteers will then assist you in checking your items in and can even help you determine an asking price. Clients may consign 14 items per contract (up to 10 items of clothing). If you have more items than you can consign in one day, you can save time by purchasing additional contracts to fill out at home! The Maxwell Thrift Shop retains 30% of the selling price per item, plus the $0.50 contract fee.
There are some items we cannot accept for various reasons. These items change often! We post an up-to-date list of what we cannot accept on a dry erase board in the store. Please call ahead to verify room for big furniture items. We do not accept consignments on weeks including a Federal Holiday.
Do you need to sell something too big to bring into the shop? Are you looking to buy something we don't have in stock? Bring in an advertisement, and we will post it on our sale board! You may submit an ad at the consignment counter. Half-sheet ads cost $0.50 for one month and full sheet ads cost $1.00 per month. Please, no advertisements for houses or vehicles.

Donations
Our donation drop box is around the side of the Maxwell Thrift Shop and is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Donations should be in good repair and electronics should work. All clothing donations should be CLEAN and have NO STAINS or HOLES. Don’t know what to do with all your shopping bags? We take those too. If you need a receipt for donated items for taxes, just ask the Manager during normal business hours.

Volunteers
If your house is already free of clutter and you don't need any bargains, consider volunteering! Volunteers are always needed to help sort, price and organize items received. Why should you volunteer at the Maxwell Thrift Shop? The Maxwell-Gunter Spouses' Club (MGSC) gives away thousands of dollars every year to worthy causes, as well as funding a scholarship program for military dependents and spouses. The money for all of this comes from our Thrift Shop, which cannot remain open without the efforts of its volunteers!
We need you, but what will you get in return? As a Maxwell Thrift Shop volunteer you will meet lots of new people and get the first chance to see all of the great stuff coming into the shop every day. In addition, volunteering at the thrift shop gives you valuable experience in retail sales and experience to put on your resume. Don't worry if you have never volunteered before - we'll teach you everything you need to know!
Volunteers have monthly dinners out, quarterly training, potlucks and holiday celebrations. High school and college-aged students can volunteer on breaks or over the summer.
Come out and join our thrift shop team! Give an hour! Give a day!
